Alumina Ceramics

Ceramics special of raised performance are materials that unite a set of favorable properties, as the raised resistance to the abrasion, the raised resistance mechanics to the compression, low thermal and chemical the density and raised estabilidades; that the preferred ones become these materials to be used in varieties of products. Alumina is the ceramics more used by uniting the cited properties, associated to the fact of being gotten way techniques of relatively simple processing when compared with covalents ceramics and, for the fact to possess relation between gotten properties and cost of extremely favorable production. Alumina products directed to the attendance from the necessities of laboratories, of chemical, odontological nature, of fusing of metals and special alloys, and others, are processed from substances cousins special, who confer to ceramics levels of pureness of the 99% order, modulus of rupture of the one than 350MPa, Modulus of elasticity of 380GPa, bigger relative density of the one than 99% and bigger hardness of the one that 16GPa. The alumina products of the TechMat, a company of technological base in the National Institute of Technology - INT, take care of to the mentioned requirements and are produced from technologies consolidated in more than ten years of research in the area of the advanced ceramic materials for structural ends aiming at applications of raised performance.
